Evaluation Process

In all, a full assessment process takes approximately 4 to 6 weeks. The timeline for a typical evaluation is as follows.

Parents meet with Dr. Young to discuss their child’s relevant medical, developmental, behavioral, and academic history. 

Teacher/Care Provider Interviews


With parent consent, Dr. Young gathers information from your child’s teachers, physician, and other care providers.

Classroom Observation


A classroom observation may be necessary for Dr. Young to assess how your child interacts with teachers and peers. 


Testing Sessions

Children are typically assessed in several 2 to 4-hour sessions. The test battery is tailored to each child. Examples of areas assessed include verbal reasoning, visual reasoning, attention, executive functioning, memory, academic achievement, and social-emotional functioning.

Feedback Session


Parents meet with Dr. Young to discuss evaluation results, diagnostic impressions, and recommendations. Older children and teens may have a feedback session with Dr. Young as well. 

Neuropsychological Report


This detailed document describes results, diagnostic impressions, and a tailored treatment plan based on your child’s strengths and needs.

Post-Report Follow Up


Parent Interview


Should parents have questions or concerns after reviewing the report, a complimentary 1-hour session may be scheduled.

Fees

The fee for an evaluation is $375 per hour. A typical evaluation requires 20 to 23 hours. A non-refundable $500 deposit is due at the time of scheduling.  

Insurance

We do not work with insurance companies nor do we guarantee reimbursement for any services by third-party payors. However, upon request, a superbill will be provided which you can submit to your insurance company.
